The accessory shoe on the top deck of the Leica D-Lux 5 is also conceived as a mount for the Leica EVF1 accessory viewfinder. The “Live-View” enabled by this electronic viewfinder lets the photographer view the subject through the lens and assess the precise composition of an image just like when using a DSLR system camera. With a resolution of 20,000 image dots, the viewfinder is particularly useful when shooting under extreme lighting conditions. The Leica EVF1 electronic viewfinder also offers photographers who wear glasses the enormous benefit of diopter compensation.
