Product DetailTech Specs
Check out our Leica D-Lux 6 Review: A solid improvement over the D-Lux 5 on Red Dot Forum.
We proudly present a new innovation by Leica Camera, the Leica D-Lux 6 with the fastest zoom lens ever. With its newly developed Summilux zoom lens, the D-Lux 6 takes a top spot in the compact camera segment. This camera is epitomized by speed and optical quality. The D-Lux 6 which fits into a shirt pocket is ideal for available light photography and a variety of creative options.
LEICA DC-VARIO-SUMMILUX ZOOM LENS
The newly designed, ultra-fast Leica DC-Vario-Summilux zoom lens 4.7-17.7mm f/1.4 -2.3 ASPH. sets a new milestone in the compact class with outstanding speed throughout its entire range of focal lengths from 24 to 90 mm (equivalent focal lenghts). Especially in low light conditions, the newly developed lens shows its high-performance that makes the D-Lux 6 an outstanding camera for available light photography. Its exceptionally high speed also offers the opportunity to make the decisive parts of the subject "stand out" from the rest thanks to the shallow depth of field with large apertures. The zoom lens with its practically oriented range of focal lengths offers many more creative uses: portrait, landscape, architecture, macro photography, or the kind of wide-angle photo journalism that is so typical of
Leica.
NEWLY DEVELOPED 1/1.7" CMOS SENSOR
This combination of the newly developed 10 MP C-MOS sensor and a high-performance Leica lens gives users the ability to capture images that set new standards in this class. The result is high-contrast, absolutely brilliant, more accurately detailed and more natural color reproduction. A new image processor now enables photography with sensitivities from ISO 80 to ISO 12,800. Thanks to the new video sensor Full HD AVCHD and internet friendly MP4 video capture is now supported. The burst speed of the new D-Lux 6 has been boosted to 12 fps.
HIGH-RESOLUTION OPTIONAL EVF WITH 1.4 MILLION PIXEL
The new, optional EVF 3 electronic view finder is a quantum leap in quality, in comparison with the EVF 1 in the predecessor model. Thanks to the EVF 3, virtually perfect assessment of the composition and capture settings are now supported. The subject is clearly presented thanks to the high viewfinder resolution, thus allowing assessment of image. The viewfinder can be tilted up through 90°, giving the photographer viewing flexibility.
MANUAL APERTURE RING FOR GREATER CREATIVE FREEDOM
For direct control, the D-Lux 6 has a manual aperture ring. This is a unique professional feature on a compact camera.
NEW HIGH-RESOLUTION DISPLAY
The resolution of the new D-Lux 6 display is 920,000 pixels, twice that of its predecessor. Even in sunlight, the new display still provides excellent playback. The different formats are displayed in recording and playback mode.
FURTHER INNOVATIONS
The integrated ND filter is also new. It is enabled by a second, new slide control on the back of the camera. The filter reduces the light by 3 stops. This makes it possible to take photographs with a wide open aperture or longer exposure times in bright ambient light. In addition to the Panorama function for shooting up to 360°, the D-Lux 6 also has an engageable spirit level which is helpful to determine the correct orientation of the subject.
