Introducing the Profoto Pro-8 Series
Like its predecessor, the Profoto Pro-8 generator was designed to meet the strict demands of the most discerning photographers.Recycling time and flash duration continue to be the primary concerns. But unlike previous Pro models,the Pro-8 is specifically designed for the accuracy requirements of today’s digital photographers.
• Fastest Recycling Speed Available First and foremost is an extraordinary recycle speed, the Pro-8 is almost twice as fast as the Pro-7. Reducing the full power recycling time from 1.8 seconds on the Pro-7 to a blistering 0.9 seconds with the Pro-8. In fact, the Pro-8 is capable of shooting as fast as 20 frames per second when the power settings are reduced, this achieves over 1,000 flashes in an hour keeping up with any professional digital camera!
• Shortest Flash Duration Available The flash durations have been significantly shortened. With a duration of 1/12,000th of a second,the pack is 50% shorter than the previous Pro-7, offering the shortest duration available today!
• Most Accurate Output and Color Consistency Available A new innovation called, Profoto PiPE (Pre-ignition Plasma Establishing) (patent pending) the Pro-8 offers unrivaled accuracy in both power output and color consistency flash to flash. Thanks to this new technology, these new generators deliver output accurate to +/- 1/50th of an f/stop and totally consistent color temperature, stability of ± 40 K from flash to flash over the entire power range.
• Digital Control The digital user interface of the Pro-8 can be adjusted over a 10 f/stop range, from 5 watt-seconds to a full 2400 watt-seconds, in1/10 of an f/stop increments. With a digital display indicating the power settings for each of the 2 head sockets individually in either f/stops or watt seconds (as in the D4.) This digital control allows for an astounding 1:9 lighting ratio over the 2 fully asymmetric lamp head sockets, all the time while maintaining the color and output consistency.
• Profoto Air Remote Now it’s easy to control your light from as far away as 1000 ft. The specially designed digital radio system, Profoto Air Remote is built-in to all Pro-8 generators. It offers complete flash control at your camera or in your hand, including flash energy control and modeling light control for an unlimited number of generators and heads.
• Full Compatibility Of course, the Pro-8 is fully compatible with the complete line of Profoto’s Pro Heads and Light Shaping Tool system, including reflectors, grids, snoots, softboxes, reflectors and much more.
