UVa/IR filters are designed for use with the Leica M8. The M8 is sensitive to infrared light, which can create color casts in synthetic fabrics, especially black fabrics. By using UVa/IR filters the correct amount of IR light is cut, thereby limiting image capture to the visible spectrum and ensuring correct color rendering.
